The role

We are looking for an experienced Education professional who has a passion to promote the educational attainment of children with special education needs (SEN). You will have a key SEN role across the key stages under the leadership of the Virtual School Headteacher, ensuring that the council fulfils its responsibilities.

In this role, you will lead on the Virtual School responsibilities towards Children with SEN to improve the education of this vulnerable group and have additional duties for previously looked after children.

You will work in partnership with multi-agency partners, including schools, SEN teams and Social Workers, to ensure that Children with SEN reach their full potential in education.

About you:

To thrive in this post, you will have extensive experience of working with Children in a SEN setting and have an understanding of Children in Care and Local Authority practice and be able to develop positive and productive relationships with partners in order to influence practice and improve outcomes

You will have a wide range of communication skills to liaise with a range of internal and external stakeholders in the education sector. You will have appropriate qualification and/or knowledge of electronic, administrative and monitoring systems and advance use of IT software packages such as Microsoft office.
