Are you passionate about making a positive impact in your community? Southwark Council is seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Local Support Admin Officer to join our dynamic Local Support Team. This role is integral to ensuring our community members receive the assistance and advocacy they need.
As a Local Support Admin Officer, you will be at the forefront of our support services, providing essential administrative support to our officers. You will be responsible for processing referrals, offering assessment advice, and liaising with various departments within the council. Your role will include:
- Engaging with customers and stakeholders over the telephone and via email, providing crucial support and information
- Create and manage documents to facilitate services and ensure seamless referrals to the appropriate teams.
- Work closely with other council departments and external stakeholders to deliver comprehensive support solutions.
- Maintain accurate records and ensure all data is up-to-date and accessible.
- Assist in providing assessment advice and support to help clients achieve positive outcomes.
About You:
To succeed in this role, you will need to be a proactive, organised, and empathetic individual with a strong commitment to customer service. We are looking for someone who meets the following criteria:
- Proven experience in customer service, particularly via email, and adept at managing client interactions with empathy and professionalism.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, ensuring clear and effective dialogue with customers and stakeholders.
- Strong skills in Microsoft 365 applications, including Word and Excel, and the ability to navigate and update computer systems efficiently.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and a collaborative spirit, essential for working within a close-knit team environment.
- A natural aptitude for customer care, with a focus on providing supportive and positive experiences for our service users.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to keep accurate records and manage data proficiently.
- An understanding of benefits and entitlement rules (desirable) and the ability to assist in advocacy and assessment processes.
Additional details
