The Role:

At Southwark's Libraries & Heritage service, we're dedicated to placing our residents at the forefront of everything we do. Our libraries play a vital role in promoting reading, learning, and inclusivity by providing books and resources to all members of our community across our network of 12 libraries.

We are currently seeking a reliable and dedicated courier driver to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for delivering books to fulfill customer reservations, as well as transporting stock across the borough to our library sites and associated venues. Additionally, you will provide support to our home library service, ensuring that socially excluded residents receive access to books.

The successful candidate will travel across the borough daily, contributing to the operational running of our library service to meet the diverse needs of our community. This role involves physical demands, including driving for extended periods and carrying boxes of books and audio-visual items. A full clean driving license is essential, and candidates must pass the Council's driving test.

If you are passionate about serving our community and have the skills and dedication to excel in this role, we encourage you to apply. Join us in making a positive impact and helping to shape the future of our library service!
