The Role:
We are looking for a creative and experienced Leisure Marketing Manager who will develop and manage a brand for Southwark’s leisure service and a marketing strategy to create a thriving leisure service, retaining existing and attracting new customers and helping to secure the service as a strong competitor in the local leisure market.


The post holder will also find innovative ways to promote the leisure service to Southwark residents, especially those less engaged with council services, to encourage healthy activity and help reduce health inequalities in the borough.

They will deliver engaging and innovative marketing elements of integrated communications campaigns, which deliver behaviour and/or perception change. They will also project manage the production of marketing material including printed publicity, advertising, graphic design, copywriting and use of digital advertising, and commission, brief, manage and evaluate the work of design contractors, illustrators, copywriters, media agents, photographers, and other marketing professionals.

The role will sit in the Communications team but will work closely with Environment and Leisure department, which is responsible for the day-to-day management of parks and open spaces, trees, sports and leisure, cemeteries, youth and play, highways, roads, parking, refuse collection, street cleansing, culture and libraries. 

About You:
-Excellent knowledge of impactful marketing techniques and strategies, and the use of data to ensure effectiveness 
-Good knowledge of commercial and competitive marketing, preferably in the leisure industry 
-Experience of delivering engaging and innovative marketing campaigns which deliver clear outcomes/results
-Experience of commissioning, briefing and managing the work of designers, photographers and other marketing professionals
-Experience of successfully managing multiple stakeholders and projects

Additional Information:
•    36 hours Monday – Friday, Full time
•    This is a x1 permanent position
