The Role:
We are looking for two legal assistants to join our safeguarding team in permanent roles. One role is full time role, working Monday to Friday. The other role is a job share role, working full days on Monday and Tuesday and a half day on Wednesday morning.
These roles would be ideal for people looking to develop their legal career or possibly returning to work within law after a career break.
Educated to Stage 1 Ilex level or a law degree or equivalent, we are looking for people with some experience of holding legal cases. This role supports the lawyers in undertaking safeguarding work, mostly child care proceedings, by undertaking drafting, issuing and serving various applications. In addition the successful candidates will hold a small caseload of section 7 and section 37 cases (Children Act 1989) and provide some support to the lawyers undertaking the adult safeguarding work.
This is a job share role working up to 18 hours per week. Days of the week to be agreed, but some flexibility will be required.
The roles are based at council offices in London Bridge with the ability for some remote working.
