The role

As a digital council, we use technology to improve outcomes and the lives of the people we serve.
Articulating this vision is the first step towards creating the transformation needed. The next step is running a digital transformation programme to deliver it … and this is where you come in. Are you a graduate? Do you want to be part of a team transforming Southwark Council from top to bottom? Re-imagining around 600 distinct services delivered to nearly 300,000 residents in areas as diverse as Bermondsey Street, Peckham Rye and the Walworth Road? If you do then we have the job for you.

We are looking for a Project Support Officer who can help us deliver digital transformation across the entire borough. This could be encouraging collaboration and fostering innovation, delivering free public WiFi on park benches or enabling social care staff to spend more time with people who really need it, or delivering new tools and technology for our staff. In return, we are offering a fast paced work environment, a good salary, generous annual leave, a role that will make a real difference to the borough, and the chance to study project management part time which we would pay for.

You would join our graduate apprenticeship scheme for 18 months and study toward a project management qualification. You would be expected to put all that you in learn into practice on our digital transformation programme. At the end, you would have an internationally accredited project management qualification and two years digital transformation experience. And remember, going digital is less about IT and more about developing a culture that embraces digital as the norm.
