The role
The Southwark Public Health team works to improve and protect the health and wellbeing of people living and working in the borough. We collaborate with a wide range of partners to enable healthy choices, reduce health inequalities and ensure services are delivered effectively, fairly and sustainably.
We have recently re-launched a new Health Improvement Hub service delivered as a Single Point of Access for all healthcare providers and need an experienced public health professional to support the commissioning and management of the associated health interventions contracts. The post holder will develop and improve the accompanying referral systems, monitoring methods and care pathways and work in matrix with Public Health Policy Officers from across the team and division to reduce health inequalities.
You will be able to appraise evidence from a range of sources, make policy recommendations and take actions to implement, based on a sound and thorough understanding and analysis of the evidence base, information and data. You will be supporting innovative digital work such as the Southwark Digital Health Checks and the development of new online health interventions.
Confident at working with and for senior level officers internally, experienced at supporting commissioned services and providers, and building partnerships across the health care sector, you will provide expertise, advice and specialist support for the work of the public health division in meeting our objectives and targets.
