The salary range for this position is: £27,306

Think Internships…for 2024

Southwark Council’s Internship programme is for young residents aged 16-24 who may be looking to get a great first stepping stone into the world of work.

We are a Living Wage employer and in line with our aims of leading by example, all of our Interns will be paid at the London Living Wage as a minimum.

March 2024 will be our sixth cohort and we’re excited to launch our new programme. The programme will run for 12 weeks and will incorporate three key elements:

- Paid work experience

- Master classes

- A group project

We have Intern posts available in a variety of service areas across the council

Organisational Development focus on improving the council’s capability through the alignment of strategy, structure, people, reward and metrics and management processes. The Organisation Development intern will manage and support our workforce to respond to local needs. Key projects include: Early Talent pathways, Southwark Stands Together initiatives, tackling racial inequalities, racism and injustice.

What we looking for in our Interns

- An understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion, health and safety and confidentiality

- An understanding of what is required around timekeeping, attendance and conduct in the work place

- Working efficiently and effectively with customers and/or peers

- Working flexibly as part of a team

- Ability to organise and prioritise own workload
