The Role:

Southwark currently gives travel assistance to children and young people with SEND and Independent Travel Training is an integral part of the modes of travel we offer. You will help us to provide the best possible service for these children/young people to help them achieve their potential and to be as independent as possible.

About You:

We require enthusiastic, motivated qualified Independent Travel Trainers, who wish to join a committed team of individuals striving to assist our children and young people with SEND, according to their individual needs. You will be required to assist children and young people who go to establishments both in borough and out of borough and you must be available to assist them throughout term time, accompanying them in the mornings and afternoons. You will also be required to keep up to date paperwork on all aspects of the training and to attend meetings with the team and act as the liaison between the council, school and parents/carers with respect to Independent Travel Training.
