The Role: 

- To ensure that a high standard of customer service is delivered to temporary and private sector accommodation clients

- Develop and maintain working relationships with private sector suppliers

- In line with the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 by ensuring that customers are housed in suitable and affordable private rented sector accommodation

About You:

Our successful candidate will have an excellent understanding of relevant legislation and guidance, particularly the Housing Act 1996(as amended) and the Homelessness Code of Guidance for Local Authorities.

You’ll have a positive approach to solving problems, work well in a team but also an ability to work independently and be comfortable driving innovation in what we do and how we do it especially to make sure that homeless clients are allocated suitable and affordable temporary accommodation.

You’ll be computer literate and have excellent prioritising and organisational skills which are vital for challenging timescales.

In this varied role you’ll have a wealth of experience in working directly with customers in a front line housing setting with the determination to achieve the highest standards of customer service.

You will be an expert at assessing clients housing needs as well as assessing accommodation for suitability and affordability. 

For this role you must be able to communicate confidently and effectively when dealing with the public, elected representatives and other key stakeholders for you to thrive in this role.

Looking for committed and enthusiastic individuals to join us as a Housing Supply Officer. You will initiate, develop and maintain working relationships with private sector suppliers  to use for temporary accommodation, homelessness prevention, or discharging a housing duty.

If you also have experience of procuring properties, inspecting, negotiating with landlords in the private sector and the ability to deliver an efficient, high quality and customer-focussed service for a diverse client group which includes vulnerable households we would like to hear from you.

Additional Information:

Please note this is a fixed term contract for 1 year.

This role is deemed to be full time role ( 36 hours a week).

Available to work outside normal working hours including at weekends if required.
