The Role:

The Housing Choice and Supply Service are seeking to recruit an Applications Officer within the Housing Applications and Housing Choice Team.

This is a fast paced role, where you will be required to work as part of a team to assess and process applications to join Southwark’s Home search bidding scheme.  

You will liaise with a number of departments within the council ensuring the service is accessible and transparent for those in housing need, seeking access to social housing in the borough.

About You:

You will be/ have

- A strong communicator, both written and orally

- A meticulous eye for detail, and will have the ability to address errors proactively in addition to sharing good practice with team members.

- Working independently within minimal supervision and to target

- An excellent word processing skills and good knowledge of MS Excel

- Flexible and can adapt to diverse work demands and patterns

- An excellent team ethos

- Thorough in your approach to data handling

- Positive and can-do approach

- A self starter

Experience of using IWorld Northgate, iCasework and Information at work (EDMS) is desirable, however training will be provided.

 

Additional Information:

• Hours of work, 36 hours Monday - Friday

• This is a permanent x2 position
