The Role
To assist in ensuring that the Highways service provides an efficient and effective service, which meets service, legislative and council policy requirements, through inspection of infrastructure, supervision of highway and other public realm works and standards, and contribute to the overall response to planning enquires and applications.
Technician roles exist in more than one team and the accountability and function will vary accordingly as outlined below.
The role in the Highway Development group involves meeting with planners, developers and contractors. The Highway Development team ensures that all highway projects dealt with, from developers and others, meet the council’s highway design standards by managing their progress through design review process and construction phase, ensuring a high quality of public realm.
