The role

The Place and Wellbeing Department at Southwark Council brings together planners, regeneration, health and community engagement professionals and experts dedicated to shaping place to improve wellbeing, community engagement and cohesion, and economic prosperity. We have developed a new structure for our specialists within the Public Health division and we are looking to recruit a Public Health Analyst to the Knowledge and Intelligence team. The role will entail working with other members of the Public Health division, Place and Wellbeing department and the Clinical Commissioning Group, in the provision of high quality Public Health analysis for commissioners and policy makers, including health needs assessments, health equity audits and other intelligence. The post holder will be accountable to the Head of Public Health Intelligence.

Confident at applying your quantitative analytical competence, you will be adept at using statistical methods to integrate data. Competence in developing and managing a variety of software from Excel through to the use specialist software such as MapInfo, Power BI, Stata, or R. Your background will include carrying out projects in a operational or research field. You’ll be comfortable undertaking evaluations, assessing health needs and also bring with you high standard of communication skills, demonstrated by the ability to present complex oral and written information, in a variety of formats to a variety of audiences.
