The role:

Head of Resourcing
£65,736 – £82,023 + £2,724 additional benefit, which can be taken as cash or invested in another benefit

At Southwark, we believe our staff are our greatest strength. They bring the power - the power to make things happen. To create relationships. To help our residents thrive. As our new Head of Resourcing, you’ll feel that energy from day one as you put your valued skills to work at a leading, progressive provider of public services. Join our people powered council and help us create a better future for Southwark.

With over 320,000 residents to serve, we need the most talented people working with us to make great things happen. And that's where you come in. As an expert in resourcing, you know the importance of bringing in the very best; and more than that, you know exactly how to do it. Whether it's analysing trends or using social media channels like LinkedIn, you're comfortable using the most up-to-date methods to leverage your work.

Day to day, you’ll lead your team to design and deliver resourcing strategies, analyse organisational needs, and develop internal and external talent pipelines. Since this is a brand-new position, you'll have the exciting opportunity to truly shape your work, including establishing our new resourcing team, and nurturing their development as you grow your own.

But your impact here goes far beyond our teams. As a council we're always striving to reflect the community we serve, and you’ll be vital to this goal as you make sure all aspects of our approach to resourcing are inclusive and fair. You will also develop creative ways to enhance our brand, growing our reputation as a respected employer within and far beyond the local government sector.

To join us, you’ll need previous experience of leading and delivering resourcing services in a local authority or similarly complex public sector organisation. You will also have a detailed understanding of the key issues facing local government, including the challenges and opportunities that impact on our approach to resourcing. This combined knowledge means you can employ best practice when it comes to attracting, selecting, and recruiting the talented workforce our residents deserve.

By harnessing our individual and collective contributions, we have the power to create a better future for Southwark. Use your power to build a next generation workforce. Join us.
