Head of Organisational Development
£65,726 – £82,023 + £2,724 additional benefit, which can be taken as cash or invested in another benefit

In this senior role, you’ll bea member of the leadership team for our People and Organisational Development (OD) service. Your goal? To help us develop the culture, behaviours and capabilities required to achieve the commitments in our council delivery plan. To achieve this, you’ll lead the design and delivery of strategies, programmes and projects that improve our organisational effectiveness. It’s an exciting and highly visible role where you’ll be part of a team providing leadership to a diverse workforce of more than 5,000 public servants.

Day to day, you’ll run your department, ensuring team members embody and promote the council’s values. You’ll also be responsible for ensuring our apprenticeship and early careers programmes reflect our workforce strategies and support learners to achieve their full potential. It’s a unique opportunity to make the most of your specialist expertise, work closely with our senior leaders, and deliver OD interventions and change management programmes that make a real difference to public services.

To join us, you’ll need solid experience in OD or change management and a track record of personal and professional development. With this background, you’ll know all about the key issues facing local government, including the challenges to tackle and the opportunities to seize.
