You should have strong problem solving skills and enjoy working with and developing your own diverse team which covers four areas of work: business strategy, finance and budget management, contract and procurement management and programme office.
You’ll appreciate that innovation and ongoing improvement will drive and deliver the CFM vision through CFM’s Business Plan and Work Plans that you will help to create and implement. You’ll be able to recognise that programme planning, tight contract and procurement management, financial awareness and people management are paramount for business strategy to succeed. You’ll be able to develop and foster cross council relationship working, collaborating with other divisions and ensuring partnership working is the norm.
Leading the team will involve some solid HR skills including mentoring and coaching and a real capacity to motivate and engage across the division. We are looking for someone who wants to support a modern working environment that is engaging, open, transparent and consistent for all staff. You will ensure your people can work adaptively and flexibly. Your robust decision making will ensure ongoing service improvement that benefits not just your workstream but CFM as a whole.
Analytics and metrics are important to ensure CFM is communicating both internally and externally with stakeholders correctly and by further developing a strong and effective performance culture helps form the strategy to deliver facilities management services in a large complex political environment. Are you relaxed presenting to small groups or running workshops in a conference style environment? Able to deal with unplanned requests for information at short notice and be resilient and flexible with a team that works together to underpin all of what CFM does.
Do you enjoy engaging with operational and senior management and external partners? Are you an effective listener and convincing speaker? We want you to be an exceptional people manager who is able to quickly build relationships, work across a variety of functions and get involved in all aspects of the role, bringing enthusiasm, drive, commitment and a can do attitude to a fast paced business unit, someone who is comfortable multi tasking and working in a high pressure fast paced environment?
Are you someone who can utilise those skills to overview and ensure a range of support contracts deliver what is required to support the organisation? Can you design and present performance information, and do you have the wherewithal to ensure the division remains within its budget envelope?
This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a council that values its employees, is one of the best employers in London and is a modern challenging forward thinking organisation. If you have a desire and proven track record with extensive experience of developing a business strategy to support the corporate facilities management division, have a strong and dynamic management style that is engaging and innovative, have experience of complex budgets, contract and procurement management and can demonstrate where you have developed and implemented major change, we really want to hear from you.
