The Role:
To lead and supervise a mobile team of up to six operatives engaged in a full range of Horticultural duties necessary for the provision and maintenance of Housing Estates within the Borough and any other areas as may be required.
To ensure that the instructions of the Contracts Manager and Supervisor are carried out and undertake the necessary administrative tasks, reading and replying to emails via a smart phone.
Being able to use mobile apps and closing down tasks sent to you.
To take responsibility for the safekeeping and operation of vehicles, equipment, and machinery allocated to the team, reporting any defects.
To complete regular reports on the schedule of works relating to the contract areas. To ensure all work is carried out within current health and safety guidelines.

About You:
You will have the ability to work with partners in other departments of the Council and in partner organisations locally and nationally to help deliver council commitments.
You will display leadership qualities to ensure the council's goals and targets are met, and also be able to engage effectively with a wide range of people and services, including senior officers and elected members of the council.
You will also be able to demonstrate the required knowledge of horticultural tools, materials, machinery, tools, and equipment.
This is a permanent position with 36 hours work per week, Monday to Friday
