Grounds Maintenance Supervisor Opportunity, Secondment for Six months
Internal Only - £32,700
As a Grounds maintenance supervisor you will assist the Southwark Cleaning Area Managers in the provision, organising and co-ordination of resources necessary for the efficient, cost effective and economic operation of Southwark Cleaning and grounds maintenance services, to meet work specification and legislative requirements.
To develop, improve, monitor, and revise methods of work to improve the service provision. Key duties and responsibilities of the role
The role includes;
- Direct line supervision of up to 60 staff
- To supervise and allocate service resources (typically permanent and agency staff, contractors, plant, materials and vehicles)
- To maintain accurate records of work activities, schedules and performance indicators
- To assist with contract management, enviro-crime education and enforcement, including the issuing of Fixed Penalty Notices to offenders and investigating and presenting evidence of offences to both internal and external panels
- To assist the area manager with monitoring expenditure by preparing and submitting reports relating to staff working hours and equipment use and replacement within their individual service areas. To understand and ensure compliance with Council policies, financial regulations and Standing Orders
- Using computerised systems, maintain statistical records in connection with Southwark Cleaning’s activities and prepare letters and reports
Additional details
About You:
- A substantial experience of working in a cleaning, grounds maintenance, waste management or related work environment
- Experience of managing/supervising in a cleaning, grounds maintenance, waste management or related work environment
- An understanding of and commitment to, the Council’s Equality and Diversity Policies in connection with employment and service provision.
- NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in a cleaning, grounds maintenance or waste management related subject
