Our Safeguarding and Family Support Service is looking for a passionate and dedicated Team Manager to join our amazing Frontline team and make a real difference today.
Southwark Council is proud to partner with Frontline, a charity committed to improving the lives of children at risk by supporting and training social workers. Through this partnership, we recruit and train new social workers as part of the Approach Social Work programme – a three-year master’s qualification.
As a Frontline Team Manager, you will lead and mentor a group of five first-year participants, supporting their professional growth, overseeing casework, ensuring statutory requirements are met, and fostering excellent social work practice. Your leadership will empower future social workers to provide life-changing support to children and families.
In this role, also known as a Consultant Social Worker (CSW) at Frontline, you will stay in practice while developing valuable skills as a manager, leader and practice educator.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage a hub of five Approach participants completing their Postgraduate Diploma in Social Work.
- Serve as the named case holder for all children and families assigned to your hub, ensuring statutory requirements are met and overseeing casework decisions.
- Hold regular one to one supervision sessions with participants.
- Manage the workflow and allocation of cases within your hub.
- Ensure practice assessments are completed on time.
- Provide ongoing support and guidance to participants.
- Help participants apply their learning in real-world situations with children and families.
- Observe participants in their direct work with families, offering developmental feedback.
- Track and report on each participant’s progress through the programme.
