Financial Inclusion Officer – Internal – Permanent x 3
The role:
Southwark’s financial climate and its affects are increasing and a growing number of tenants, landlords and advocates require financial advice and support to ensure our clients are receiving relevant support to alleviate financial issues. Southwark is committed to building resilience within and preventing homelessness wherever possible.
This Financial Inclusion Officer role is suitable for a vibrant individual who is passionate about assisting applicants with their financial situations. The role requires initiative and drive in a fast paced environment that is ever changing and adapting to move with the financial climate. The successful candidate will need to be focused and resilient with a skill set to problem solve and provide effective solutions.
The purpose of this position to prevent homelessness and support customers that are impacted by Welfare Reform legislation. The role will include managing budgets, assessing which customers can be awarded Discretionary Housing Payments, Rent Arrears payments and accessibility to other financial support available, supporting residents and preventing homelessness.
It will also include working with residents to reduce rent arrears, maintaining partnerships with established key agencies and stakeholders, whilst developing and forming new relationships in the community. You will be responsible for ensuring the initial contact with the customer is a positive and comfortable experience.
Additional information:
- Hours of work are 36 hours: Monday - Friday
- This is a Permanent role.
