About the role:
About the role exciting opportunities have arisen for the appointment of two full time Finance Officers , one permanent and one 6-months Fixed-Term contract within the Financial Control section whose responsibilities include the operational running of the Council’s main financial system, Systems Applications Programming (SAP - vendors, customers, users, chart of accounts); managing the Council’s Sundry Debt portfolio; managing Corporate Refunds and Write-off processing. This involves the provision of expert advice, guidance and support to both new and existing users and business units and, ensuring audit compliance in our processes.
About you:
As an active and enthusiastic junior officer, you will be a team player and an important part of this very busy section.
You'll come to us with experience of computer use and knowledge of MS Office to include Excel spreadsheet; basic knowledge of public sector finance and a good eye for details.
Able to communicate in a clear way to different audiences and proven ability to gain knowledge and learn skills and take part in small projects.
The team have challenging performance targets which are closely monitored. However, you will be rewarded by your valuable contribution to ensuring that the team meet these targets.
Able to implement solutions to identified problems (with appropriate guidance) and able to monitor own performance both in the work place and if applicable in further education.
