We're now on the lookout for an experienced Finance Business Partner who is passionate about driving strategic financial decisions and supporting our corporate objectives. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to develop, manage, and provide both strategic and operational finance and accountancy support, ensuring the efficient delivery of services across a diverse range of areas.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage financial accountancy services for Customer and Exchequer Services, overseeing operational budgets of approximately £40m.
- Formulate financial policies and strategies, reporting to senior management and stakeholders.
- Ensure integrity of financial information and compliance with audit requirements.
- Lead operational budget streams, budget forecasting, risk management, and resource allocation.
- Manage financial targets, departmental business programmes, and performance reporting.
- Advise our Senior Management Team (SMT), offering valuable finance insights to ensure the success of our corporate objectives
- Additional responsibilities will encompass business administration and finance support across all service areas, making your role integral to our success within the Public Sector.
How will you make an impact as our Finance Business Partner?
- You will be a qualified accountant (CIMA, ICAEW, ACCA, CIPFA, or ICAS).
- You will be an adaptable Finance Business partner, with a strength of presence to lead, blended with a passion to engage and advocate a cost saving mind-set.
- Previous accountancy experience as a Finance Business Partner, blended with extensive knowledge of Local Government or Public Sector is highly desired.
- Proficiency in financial reporting, analysis, and decision-making skills.
- You will have a passion for building and delivering a cost-conscious-aware culture blended with a balanced pragmatism.
- Financially astute, articulate, technically strong, dynamic, an influential leader with the ability to operate at both strategic and delivery levels.
- A natural problem-solver who can make critical recommendations at pace, whilst embedding financial principles and controls within a highly visible role.
- A high comfort level with ambiguity, able to navigate challenging opinions with ease.
