The role
The Internship Programme within Exchequer Services
Exchequer is one of the largest service areas in the Council with many teams, whose objective is to provide an excellent service to meet the needs of the residents of Southwark. Our interns will have the opportunity to gain experience, through 5 rotations, within the many areas within Exchequer Services including, Contact Centre, Local Support, Support Services, Rent Income and Home Ownership. The Internship is designed to give you a wide understanding of the key duties and functions of specific service areas which will be assigned following the recruitment process.
Now more than ever, the young people of Southwark need support to help them access employment that reflects their ambitions and hard work.
Our paid internships are aimed at creating positive futures for young residents aged 16-24, who need help to get on the career ladder.
This Internships will last 12 weeks.

What you would be doing
You would be acting in a vital business support role for teams within Exchequer Services.
You would be responsible for carrying out administrative duties and would be part of the wider business support staff within the department.
This is a well-rounded opportunity to gain essential business support skills whilst helping people in our community.
About You
You will need to have excellent communication skills, be able to use Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Word and Excel. Time management skills are beneficial, as you will need to be organised and be mindful of data protection and how to work with sensitive information.
Requirements
Applicants must be able to work full time and have 5 GCSE’s at grade A* to D/9-3 or equivalent including Maths and English.
Additional salary details
This Internship is 12 weeks in duration.
This is a paid internship at Grade 1.
Southwark internships are restricted to Southwark Borough residents aged 16-24.
