Regulatory Services Housing Enforcement: Southwark Council is committed to safeguarding the community and ensuring a safe, healthy, and compliant housing. Our Private Sector Housing Enforcement Team plays a vital role in maintaining and enhancing the borough’s living standards through education, engagement and rigorous enforcement. The team is also responsible one of the largest discretionary licensing schemes in London.

What You’ll Do:
As an Enforcement Officer, you’ll play a pivotal role in regulating Southwark's private rented housing sector. Your daily tasks will include:
- Investigating complaints and conducting inspections using the Housing Health and Safety Rating System (HHSRS).
- Licensing properties to ensure compliance with housing standards.
- Taking enforcement actions, such as issuing Civil Penalty Notices (CPNs) or preparing for legal proceedings.
- Engaging with landlords, tenants, and the community to provide support and guidance.
- Managing a varied caseload while meeting strict deadlines.
Your role will directly contribute to improving the living standards for residents and ensuring Southwark remains a place we are all proud to call home.
