- GCSE requirements or equivalent qualification level*
*GCSE qualification requirements will vary depending upon apprenticeship level
*English and Maths qualifications are a mandatory element of an apprenticeship if not held as a GCSE upon enrolment.
The Role:
The Enforcement Team work as part of Exchequer Services to provide a high quality, customer-focused service to our customers. Ensuring that we maximise income for the Council.
The Enforcement Team are responsible for the recovering outstanding debts owed for both Service Charge and Garage arrears.
This is a varied and interesting role, the purpose of which is to provide a point of contact for our customers providing excellent customer service when providing information. Assisting and supporting the Enforcement Team with all aspects of their work including maintaining the teams post, phone calls and court documentation. The successful candidates will receive on the job training, opportunities to attend and witness court hearings and learn about a very niche service.
The Enforcement Apprentices will be responsible for assisting in initiating legal action against leaseholders and freeholders for the recovery of service charge and rent debt.
The post holders are required to provide administrative support to the Enforcement Team, including assisting in the preparation of the Council’s Court, Lands Tribunal and First Tier Tribunal matters. They will also be expected to respond to and prepare routine legal letters, maintaining information and records.
In addition, they will assist the Enforcement Manager and Senior Enforcement Officer with issues relating to leasehold and freehold enforcement.
Our team currently consists of 12 and has an impact of recovering debt that is owed and we contribute to the income of the Council. We have successfully recruited permanent staff following completion of apprenticeships in this role in the past.
The apprenticeship pathway you will be completing will be Business Administrator Level 3
About You:
The successful candidates will have:
5 minimum GCSE grade C or 4 including English and Maths
Experience of and ability to research topics, obtain information, and co-ordinate and write procedures, reports etc.
Experience of and ability to work on own initiative and be self-motivated and committed to providing a service to customers.
Experience of using a wide range of computer packages.
Ability to communicate effectively to a very high standard, verbally and in writing.
Ability to effectively prioritise and meet deadlines particularly when faced with changing priorities.
A high degree of interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate at several levels.
Effective time management skills.
