The Role
Southwark Council is looking for an Emergency Duty Officer, who will become part of our Out of Hours Team. This is a customer focused service for our callers, delivering on a wide range of services for Southwark Council customers.
We are seeking an excellent communicator who will take the lead role in handling enquires from customers both, internal and external.
Be able to demonstrate, problems solving skills, be reactive and provide solutions whist under time constraints. You will have a flexible attitude towards work, taking ownership for queries, ability to go the extra mile and ensuring each case is comprehensively resolved.
This role will give you access to highly sensitive information and you may come in come in contact with people who are distress and or with special circumstances. Therefore, it is imperative you are calm, professional and show discretion at all times.

This position is only available for Internal Candidates
This post attracts a 20% rotating shift allowance, this is because the successful candidate will be required to work out of hours and weekends.
