The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to join the Electoral Services team. London Borough of Southwark are looking are looking to recruit an Electoral Services Officer to provide a key administrative role and assist with the effective and efficient delivery of the electoral registration process, all elections, referenda, statutory ballots and periodic reviews to specific and ad hoc timetables in accordance with electoral legislation.

You should possess excellent administrative skills and work efficiently to ensure accuracy and attention to detail. You will be required to manage your workload and prioritise conflicting demands to meet statutory deadlines.
You must have knowledge of electoral registration and administration of elections, including the effective use of Civica Xpress software.
For this role you must be able to communicate confidently and effectively when dealing with the public, elected representatives and other key stakeholders.
You must be committed to working in the field of democracy and have a desire to learn the complexities regarding registration and voting legislation. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to undertake training in all aspects of electoral administration, including the AEA (Association of Electoral Administration) Foundation course and AEA certificate.
The post holder must be flexible and prepared to work additional hours, including evenings, weekends and bank holidays with restrictions on leave during elections and peak canvass periods..
