The Role:

We are seeking X2 qualified teachers to provide education advice to schools, social workers, foster carers and other professionals, in support of Southwark’s looked after children.

With your understanding of vulnerable client groups, you will attend Personal Education Plan meetings (within and beyond Southwark), and other multi-disciplinary meetings to review pupil progress. Where necessary, you will provide effective support and challenge to ensure pupils are given the best possible opportunity to thrive.

About You:

Your negotiating and influencing skills will enable you to handle sudden education needs, to secure appropriate provision in close liaison with social workers, designated teachers and schools’ senior management, keeping a looked after child in education.

You will be an excellent communicator, a confident practitioner who can achieve positive outcomes for this important group of children and young people.

We particularly encourage and welcome applicants from black, Asian and ethnic minorities since we are underrepresented at management level and are passionate about making improvements in this space.

If you think you have the right values, experience and expertise to add to our culture, please do not hesitate to apply.
