The role:
As you can imagine, London’s biggest social landlord – and the third biggest in the country – takes some managing.
You’ll see to it that housing satisfies the demands of both residents and council policy alike. You’ll be a delegator and a doer, with a good track record of operational experience. A natural leader who can follow through. Simply put, you’ll ensure that every council resident feels proud to call Southwark home.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing strategic leadership for housing management services to council tenants, homeowners, and residents of sheltered and supported housing
- Developing and implementing council housing strategy, policy and service improvement
- Supporting residents to take on more management responsibilities Building multi-agency relationships – for example with Children’s and Adult’s services/ Estates/Environment
- Tackling housing fraud and promoting active neighbourhoods
- Maintaining and monitoring council services
