The Director of Environment is a fantastic opportunity to join a council looking to be innovative in how they deliver services that are designed to meet all residents needs at a unique time. We are looking for a modern, inclusive leader that creates a positive environment where everyone can be themselves and can fulfil their potential.
This position is responsible for delivering the strategic framework for the delivery of environmental services within Southwark meeting the Councils Fairer Future promises and living the unique values of the Council. The postholder will shape and deliver a large and complex capital programme over the short, medium, and long term and lead the staff of the environment directorate so that they are empowered and able to act as the need demands and as they think best. The ability to deliver excellent universal environmental services to all residents will be a critical success factor, but the successful candidate will be able to deliver at the operational and strategic level working with a wide range of partners, stakeholders and suppliers.
