The Role

The Role:

As Digital Public Health Project Officer Graduate Apprentice, you will play a key role in supporting the ambitious transformation of Southwark’s public health services, to take full advantage of digital technology. Day to day will you will co-ordinate the delivery of the different digital projects, and support high quality management of the overall programme.

You will have the opportunity to learn all about the role of public health and develop skills in both public health and digital service design.

As part of this role, you will undertake a development programme leading to a nationally recognised project management qualification as part of an apprenticeship programme, working in a supported learning environment to develop higher professional skills, knowledge, behaviours and work experience in project management. This includes attending a course of study with an assigned learning provider, college or university to attain an apprenticeship award or professional qualification that meets the requirements of the national Apprenticeship Standards at Level 4.

About You:

Southwark Council’s Public Health team is looking to recruit a Digital Public Health Project Officer Graduate Apprentice, who is passionate about improving the health and well-being of Southwark’s residents and helping us to reduce inequality. Who is interested in both public health and also digital service design; and is interested in growing their skillset in project management through the graduate apprentice training scheme.

We want to hear from people with potential, so even if you are not the finished article, don’t let that stop you from applying as we will work with you to develop and grow.

The qualities we are looking for are: a passion to work in Southwark and improve life for local people, a can do attitude, a desire to get stuck in and a willingness to undertake administrative tasks with the knowledge that there will be opportunity to progress to managing work streams and projects. You will need to be highly organised and able to work on a number of different projects. You will also need to demonstrate your ability engage well with stakeholders at all levels and good team working spirit.
