The role
The Role
There is an opportunity for a Design and Conservation Planner in the Design, Conservation and Transport team in the Planning and Growth Division. They team write policy, research, monitoring, partnership working and work with consultants as well as working on the Local Plan. They provide advice for development management on strategic and major applications and they process design and conservation planning applications.
Suitable candidates must have a design and/or heritage qualification. They should be able to demonstrate knowledge of planning policy/design considerations particularly an understanding of strategic planning issues, how to interpret them simply and translate complex issues into development management policies.

About you
The position requires to be enthusiastic and passionate and keen to lead improvements and change. This is part of a planning team where there are training and opportunities to gain experience throughout all of the Planning Division working towards RTPI accreditation.
