The role

We are looking for a deputy team manager who can offer exemplary leadership, management, and professional guidance to a team of social workers, and where required other practitioners, both directly and within their team.

You will ensure the delivery of a high-quality, comprehensive, integrated, strong based, and person-centred social work service within Southwark’s Practice Framework.

You will promote and govern excellent social work practice, including assessing needs, support planning and working purposefully with individuals, their families, support networks and other professionals to safeguard Adults and their carers, whilst promoting positive outcomes.

You will ensure the delivery of a social work service that is both strength-based and responsive to the needs of adults, their families and social networks in a timely manner and within statutory guidelines. You will promote, lead and manage the development of excellent and confident practitioners.

About you:

You will have:

•  Experience of managing or supporting an inter-professional team, setting priorities, undertaking supervision and undertaking performance
•  Expert knowledge of key legislation, Social Work theories and guidance with demonstrable ability to apply this to practice.
•  Ability to supervise and/or manage a cohort of social care practitioners. This may include workers from different professional backgrounds, Newly Qualified Social workers and student placements.
•  Ability to take responsibility for the professional learning and development of others through supervision, mentoring, assessing, research, teaching and leadership.
•  Experience of working with people with Learning Disabilities.
•  High-quality written and verbal skills, with an ability to collate and analyse complex information, and produce clear, good-quality data.
•  Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team and with multiple agencies to facilitate holistic assessments and working collaboratively to support people to achieve their goals and maximize independence.
