The Role

Deputy Team Manager (Social Worker) Secondment/Act Up

We are looing for an experienced and skilled social worker to join Southwark's Care and Support Team within the Mental Heath Adult Social Care Division as a Deputy Manager.

This is to cover a secondment and will be until at least August 2021. The post is open to internal applications (including agency staff) only.

The team works with adults with mental health problems to meet their social care needs, promote their independence, help them achieve their goals and outcomes in order to improve their wellbeing.

We are a multi-disciplinary team, made up of social workers, occupational therapists and assistant practitioners.

You will work closely with and assist the team manager in providing leadership for the complex case management section of the CAST team. You will supervise and guide social workers who are undertaking direct work with adults with complex needs, using a variety of approaches. You will assist them to work creatively with clients, some of whom may be hard to engage.

You will oversee the social workers as they undertake social care assessments/reviews, under the Care cat 2014 and s117 Mental Health act, completing strength based support plans in order to maximise an adults wellbeing and independence. You will also manage person centred safeguarding investigations and fully utilise multi-agency working to ensure the best outcomes for clients.

As Deputy Manager you will hold a small caseload to continue to develop your practice, and act as a role model and expert practitioner within the team.

Please note, due to the COVID-19 pandemic interviews are likely to take place remotely. However, as this is a frontline service, the post holder would be expected to attend the office on a semi-regular/rota basis.
