The Role:

We are seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Delivery Manager to ensure the successful delivery of Southwark Monitoring and Alarm Response Team’s (SMART) digital transformation.

SMART provide a call monitoring, emergency response and equipment installation service to over 4,000 vulnerable people across Southwark and Lambeth.

BT Openreach announced the switch-off of the Public Switched Telephone Network (PSTN) by 2025. The vast majority of SMART clients rely on traditional copper-based telephony networks to connect to Southwark’s Alarm Receiving Centre. Therefore, all SMART clients would need to be switched to a digital phone line and their equipment replaced before 2025.

About Southwark:

We are the largest local authority social landlord in London, managing 55,000 homes lived in by 40% of Southwark’s residents. We are home to over 18,300 businesses including iconic London venues and social enterprises and we have a young, diverse, and growing population.

At Southwark we are committed to making our borough just and fair and are taking positive action to tackle inequalities.  Our residents and communities are our greatest asset and the passion we have for Southwark is shared by millions of Londoners who enjoy our outstanding cultural offer, use our hospitals and attend our universities. Our refreshed borough plan and focus on Southwark Stands Together, (which is our work with Southwark’s communities and the council’s staff to tackle racism, injustice and inequality) underpins all that we do.

About You:

The role of Delivery Manager will play an essential part in the shift from analogue to digital telecare, which has the potential to dramatically transform the future of over 4,000 service users across Southwark and Lambeth. One of the key objectives will be to support the planning and operational management of SMART Digital Transformation Programme.

This is a temporary position funded for 12 months, working closely with Southwark and Lambeth colleagues in Adult Social Care. The role reports to the Analogue to Digital Programme Manager within Customer and Exchequer Services.
