About the role:
The Environment, Neighbourhoods and Growth Department is looking to recruit a Data Analyst to its central Performance and Delivery team. The department is public facing, providing highly visible service to residents that shape the quality of their lives including environmental services, planning and growth, leisure, culture, parks, public safety and climate change. The post’s role, in working with a range of colleagues from across the organisation, is vital in delivering service improvement and excellent standards through the provision of expertise and analysis, ensuring that we effectively make use of data to inform and steer vital service and strategic decisions. This role is also critical to helping us drive improved outcomes for our residents through effective performance management and data analytics.
Confident at applying your quantitative analytical skills, you will be adept at using statistical methods to integrate data, and equally comfortable using strong interpersonal skills to report your analysis to a variety of audiences. You will be competent in developing and managing a variety of relevant software from Excel through to Power BI or other similar business intelligence software. Ideally you will bring knowledge of the responsibilities, duties and services held and delivered by a large local authority such as Southwark, but just as important is the curiosity and ambition to help us become a data-driven department and organisation.
