About Southwark

We are the largest local authority social landlord in London, managing 55,000 homes lived in by 40% of Southwark’s residents. We are home to over 18,300 businesses including iconic London venues and social enterprises and we have a young, diverse and growing population.

At Southwark we are committed to making our borough just and fair and are taking positive action to tackle inequalities.  Our residents and communities are our greatest asset and the passion we have for Southwark is shared by millions of Londoners who enjoy our outstanding cultural offer, use our hospitals and attend our universities. Our refreshed borough plan and focus on Southwark Stands Together, (which is our work with Southwark’s communities and the council’s staff to tackle racism, injustice and inequality) underpins all that we do.

The Role:

The Environment, Neighbourhoods and Growth Department is looking to recruit a  Data Analyst Apprentice to its central Performance and Delivery team.

The department is public facing, providing highly visible service to residents that shape the quality of their lives including environmental services, planning and growth, leisure, culture, parks, public safety and climate change.

The post’s role, working with a range of colleagues at all levels from across the department, is vital to helping us drive improved outcomes for our residents by informing evidence based service improvements and strategic decisions through effective performance management and analysis.

This is an exciting new opportunity to participate in the Southwark Apprenticeship Programme to develop data analysis skills which will support the continuous improvement of Adult Social Care services in Southwark. The role sits within the Performance, Development and Quality team which is responsible for ensuring Adult Social Care teams follow best practice and provides evidence to improve and develop services for the borough’s residents.

About You:

You have an aptitude for learning new skills in IT applications and will take initiative to apply knowledge and learning to improve processes and produce accurate information. You have attention to detail and tenacity in resolving errors and issues. Good communication skills and a responsive “customer service” attitude are essential for this role as the post holder will liaise with colleagues across the council and partners across the borough to provide information to support evidence based decision making.
