We have a ground breaking free swim and gym offer for all our residents, award winning parks and open spaces with 25 Green Flags and a commitment to secure more, a comprehensive programme of new facility development and infrastructure projects in our parks. Our Cemeteries and Crematoria are also undergoing an important transformation with significant investment and focus. All of these areas are key contributors to the wider social regeneration of the Borough and we want highly motivated, enthusiastic, and committed people to help us deliver in these key roles. You will bring experience across one or more of these areas, have a strong track record of achievement, be a collaborative team player and keen to play your part to shape and deliver the future of these services.
The successful candidate will have the following:
•To preserve an appropriate and dignified atmosphere at all times whilst carrying out operations of cremation duties and chapel attendance in a safe manner and in accordance with the Code of Cremation Practice, the needs of service and deals with customers sensitively and appropriately.
•To ensure that the operation of the crematorium complies with all statutory and local responsibilities, including the Environmental Protection Act.
•Experience of delivering services to specified standards and deadlines, to meet statutory and local regulations and responsibilities.
•To report on and ensure Health and Safety standards are maintained within the working environment and to ensure suitable and appropriate conditions in which cremation services are held.
•To undertake cremation and ancillary duties in accordance with strict guidelines. To ensure the safe operation, routine checks of cremators and ancillary equipment and appropriate identification checks are carried out prior to committing a coffin for cremation and following the removal of remains from the cremator.
•Experience of providing an efficient front-line customer services.
•Excellent communication skills and experience of working with the public in sensitive environment.
