The role

As Creche Assistant, you will create a safe, secure and stimulating creche environment - one where children can explore their potential.

You'll consider their physical, emotional, intellectual, social and psychological development. You'll do it through play and education, always keeping up with the latest changes in childcare legislation.

We'll give you opportunities to train in new techniques and approaches. But to join us, you'll need proven experience in creche environment.

Most importantly, you must be passionate about creating great experiences for children and their families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create a safe, secure and stimulating Crèche environment - one where children can explore their potential
  • Consider children's physical, emotional, intellectual, social and psychological development through play and education
  • Ensure Crèche is safe, clean and tidy at all times
  • Liaise with parents and carers in an informative and appropriate manner
  • Set up and cleaning of the crèche so it is ready for when the children arrive
  • Maintain accurate and effective children’s records
  • Comply with the statutory framework for the EYFS and relevant legislation including the Children Act 1989 and 2004
  • Demonstrate good, inclusive practice with regard to children with special needs, differing cultures, religions and backgrounds
  • Undertake a shared responsibility for health, safety and cleanliness throughout the Crèche

Additional details

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Paediatric First Aid Qualification
  • A Childcare & Education qualification equivalent to NVQ level 3 and above
  • A sound knowledge of child development for children aged birth to five years
  • Ability to develop effective relationships with colleagues, parents and outside agencies

This post requires a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) DBS check at Enhanced level.
