The Role:

The role will be based in the Corporate Facilities Management (CFM).  CFM supports the Council’s workforce by maintaining property assets that enable the delivery of front line services that meet the Council’s organisational objectives. CFM as a key member of the Modernise Division is at the forefront of collaborative working and embraces all the change that Modernise will bring to the workplace and preparing the office accommodation environment for the challenges ahead. 

This post is integral to the smooth running of the council, the successful candidate will be pivotal in delivering efficient, effective, economic and compliant contracting and procurement services within a raft of contractual arrangements meeting the current and future needs of the council’s non-housing estate.  This is a vital role in providing CFM staff and stakeholders with in-depth knowledge of contracting, commercial tendering advice whilst ensuring that support contracts provide efficient, effective services as well as value for money to the wider estate.

The holder will Manage CFM’s contracting and procurement activities including client-facing services, client/customer relationships taking a proactive approach to driving cost efficiencies, establishing and maintaining good relationships and working processes with internal stakeholders, suppliers, contractors and customers.

The contract manager will be responsible for managing and monitoring a substantial portfolio of high value contracts and will require a high degree of commercial awareness.

The contract manager must ensure operational managers are aware of all deliverables and assists in minimising revenue expenditure, maximising staff efficiency, and allowing the timely capture of capital receipts.

About You:

You will have good knowledge of procurement including frameworks and contract management within government solution contracts.  

You will be flexible and able to prioritise your own workload as well as having a good eye for detail, and be experienced in developing customer/client relationships in a large multi-site blue chip or government organisation.

You will have the  ability to identify and apply best practices within the specialist area of contracting and procurement.
