The role

The Role:

The Coroner Resource Officer is responsible for providing excellent administrative support to meet the requirements of the Inner South London Coroners Court. It is a challenging and varied role, and is best suited to someone who is a good team player with excellent communication and organisational skills.

You will be responsible for a variety of duties pertaining to the effective operation of the Coroners Court

  • Management of the telephone service including front facing service of the court, and provide a consistent and professional high level of customer service at all times.
  • Supporting the Coroner as court usher for the efficient day to day operation of the court room for remote, in person and hybrid inquests;
  • Jury Bailiff : managing the jury during jury inquests;
  • case management for death referrals.
  • court diary management;
  • processing information requests & press enquiries;
  • archiving of case files and court records;
  • processing financial orders & invoices;
  • interrogating IT systems to update and retrieve information;
  • operating court recording AV equipment;
  • maintaining & updating the court’s website
About You:
We are looking for someone who has experience of working in a front facing service with excellent customer service skills.
- You must possess excellent communication skills both oral and written, and
know how to be an empathic listener, as the role interacts with bereaved persons.
-You must have good organisational skills, and be able to work on your own initiative.
-You must also be able to communicate effectively with a wide range of people.
As a Coroner Resource Officer, you will be working in a very busy, highly motivated team, you will be expected to demonstrate the abilities to be a flexible team player and form effective working relationships, which is essential

There is 1 Permanent role and 1 Year Fixed Term Contract Role
