The Role:
Operational management of a contracts and quality for commissioned service providers in Adults and Children's Social Care and Education. Ensuing all contracts are managed to ensure value for money, management of risk and high quality services to residents.
To ensure delivery of activities outlined in the annual contract and quality management plan, working as part of a team to problem solve underperforming contracts and implement recovery and improvement plans.
Work alongside commissioners and service leads, contributing subject matter expertise to reviews of contracts and the design of future service specifications.
Manage own contracts. Working with providers to deliver to specification, performance indicators and budgets.
Line management of two staff.

About you:
You will have some understanding of contract management, project management and quality assurance techniques
You will be joining a quite newly formed management team as part of the Quality, Performance and Transformation Division within Children's and Adults Commissioning.
You will manage team of two Contracts and Quality Officers / Support Officers working alongside our other team leader to ensure all allocated contracts in your team and managed for quality, performance and value for money. Signing off officer visit reports, complaints and quality alerts and contributing to operational and strategic boards.
This is a great opportunity to gain first hand experience of line management, contract management and supplier relationship management and to work alongside commissioners and service managers to improve services for residents.
It would suit someone looking to progress their career into these areas looking to move up or move across from other areas of the council.
This will be a secondment or acting up arrangement dependant on the successful candidate.
Additional salary details
An vacancy has arisen to cover for our Contracts and Quality Team Leader for a period of six months from October 2023 while she undertakes an external secondment.
