Ensuring quality for Southwark


This is a chance to use your knowledge of best practice to drive improvement and achieve value for money for local people. The Engineering department has a role available we’re looking for a skilled and motivated member of staff to operate from our Tooley Street office.


This role is key to Asset Management in achieving its objectives and managing risk in relation to contracts. The CCO will be located alongside the procurement team, part of the Commercial Team.


The post holder will monitor and report regularly on contract compliance to manage and mitigate risks to the council and residents. You will also assist in ensuring contracts are successfully mobilised, and where required existing contracts demobilised. The successful applicant will act as a Social Value Champion for Asset Management and promote the Councils Social Value policies.


You will be experienced in contract compliance as you will be monitoring contract terms and Council policies establishing risk management strategies related to changes to contractors.


As well as reviewing data to identify areas of non-compliance with council policies and contractual undertakings.


To succeed you’ll need a good understanding of Housing maintenance and construction services with a knowledge of Local authority objectives. The ability to analyse business objectives, identify risks and prioritise actions. The post holder must have experience of dealing with TUPE monitoring ensuring to maintain the council’s promise of delivering value for money and the principle of spending money as if it were from our own pocket.


We’ll also look for strong communication skills, the ability to use IT to collect, collate and analyse data and to report performance.
