The Role

We are looking for a Consultant Social Worker in the Post Adoption Team to lead on specific areas to support the team including.

- deputise for the team manager in their absence

- supporting colleagues by Quality Assuring work to ensure it is of good standard and meet timescales

- Being a lead on;  and coordinating specific areas needed to develop a modern adoption service eg, contact arrangements, leading on developing and delivering  training for partner agencies and supporting Adopters and Birth Parents

- Provide information, advice and guidance to colleagues within the team and to partners across the service in line with our service standards

- To hold a limited case load

- to provide leadership and supervision to Letterbox Co-ordinators x 5

Reducing race disparity in adoption is a key objective for everyone in ALS and the successful candidate will be committed to this objective in all aspects of the service delivery.

There will be opportunities to develop your group work and training skills in preparing adopters and birth families to participate in meaningful arrangements to support the adopted child to have a good sense of self and identity.

This  vacancy is in Post Adoption Support team. Agile working is established in ALS, with visits usually from home.  The role is based at Tooley Street but meetings can take place at venues across our region.

About Adopt London South - Regional Adoption Agency

Adopt London South is a forward-looking Regional Adoption Agency partnership, working across 10 South London councils.

As the Regional Adoption Agency we  work closely with the partners and also with national projects to improve adoption. 

Our aim is to build best practice across South London by providing a range of adoption services children, adoptive families, birth parents and adopted adults. We are looking for people to join us in building the service to improve outcomes in adoption.
