The role:
You will work with the Senior Adviser for SEND and Inclusion as part of the School Improvement Team and be accountable for delivering the monitoring framework of support and challenge to schools.
As a SEND Consultant, you will provide high- quality advice, guidance and support to empower School Leaders, SENCOs and Practitioners to effectively meet the needs of children with SEND, with particular regard to the promotion of the Southwark SEND Standards and Statutory Requirements. You will be supporting the development of a rigorous Local Authority SEND monitoring framework of support and challenge in all educational settings. You will ensure children are fully included and able to realise their potential and achieve their aspirations following a graduated approach in line with the SEN Code of Practice.
Key duties include:
Delivering initiatives to ensure targeted SEND support for settings
Supporting SENCOs in their duties with regards to inclusion and SEND
Visiting settings to providing advice and guidance regarding strategies
SEND processes and funding and delivering appropriately targeted continuous professional development courses for staff in schools and in other learning settings
About you:
You will be a graduate with a degree and qualified teacher status (QTS) with a minimum of years of experience of working in an educational setting.
Specialist subject knowledge and experience relating to SEND is essential.
Additional salary details
Soulbury 12-15 (£51,425 - £55,553)
- Type of contract; FTC – one year in the first instance
