About the Role
Community Wardens provide a reassuring uniformed patrol presence on the streets, estates, parks and open spaces of Southwark, addressing concerns of crime, anti-social behaviour and environmental crime through targeted operations and patrols in areas of most need. They are a valued and flexible resource that supports organisational efforts in helping our communities, especially in response to an emergency or major incident.
The Community Warden Service was created for the purposes of:
- Helping to reduce the fear of crime
- Helping to reduce crime and disorder
- Helping to improve the physical environment
- Creating and improving community relations
- Facilitating access to information and services
We are looking to recruit a Team Leader who is responsible for the operational provision, development and performance of the Town Centre team.
About You
You will need to have an excellent standard of leadership that develops a proactive and positive team by creating a supportive environment for staff to thrive. This includes communicating, planning, developing, and implementing ideas or projects that translate corporate priorities into effective community based actions.
You will lead by example, combining management responsibilities with operational patrols to truly understand the needs of officers on the ground, as well as appreciate the issues that affect those in our neighbourhoods.
You will contribute fully to the management team function, and represent the wider service at partnership/community meetings, operations and events.
