The Role:

This role is located within a fast-paced team with a range of important council commitments to deliver. We are seeking to recruit an experienced, highly motivated and enthusiastic individual with strong partnership skills and an ability to deliver to deadlines while managing competing priorities.

You will take a lead role in commissioning and implementing a new approach to delivering domestic abuse services linked to a wider transformation of Southwark's approach to addressing violence against women and girls.

You will also engage with a wide range of people and services. While working within a team, you will also have contact with senior officers and with elected members of the Council as well as building and maintaining relationships with relevant internal and external stakeholders.

About You

The successful candidate will be experienced in leading and managing complex commissioning projects within a community safety or related setting, with a good understanding of strategies that address violence against women and girls and domestic abuse. We are looking for someone who:

Employs an assertive yet personable approach to achieving your goals.

Is a skilled communicator, with the ability to build credible relationships across the Council and with a range of external stakeholders to successfully deliver strategic priorities.

Is thorough, well organised, comfortable chairing meetings, has good report writing and excellent presentation skills, and is able to present in a wide variety of formats to stakeholders.

Responds calmly and professionally where there may be competing priorities.

Has enthusiasm, drive, and a commitment to your own learning and development.
