The Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to work in the substance misuse field following the publication of the UK Government's Drug Strategy in December 2021, which commits the whole of government and public services to come together and share responsibility for combating illegal drug use and its harms.
This fixed term role is based within the council’s Drug and Alcohol Action Team (DAAT) and is accountable to the Unit Manager. The DAAT is one of five teams within the Community Safety and Partnerships’ division of the council and serves the borough’s statutory Community Safety Partnership and Combatting Drugs Partnership. The team is responsible for the full commissioning cycle of Public Health funded drug and alcohol treatment services for people of all ages in Southwark and providing leadership for the implementation of the drug strategy at a local level.
This role has arisen from the Department for Levelling Up, Housing and Communities’ Rough Sleeping Drug and Alcohol Treatment Grant award to the council. The role will provide commissioning and coordination of the grant, including oversight of funded projects and service, system and partnership development, with a focus on people sleeping, or at risk of, sleeping rough with drug and alcohol treatment needs.

You must have excellent analytical, commissioning, communication, partnership and report writing skills.
