The role

About Southwark:

Southwark is a large, ambitious and progressive council with a ‘can do’ attitude and enviable reputation. As a Council, we are successful, passionate and forward-thinking. We are committed to our ‘Fairer Futures for All’ promise which ensures that our residents and businesses are central to everything we do. If you want to make a difference at a local level, apply to Southwark Council today.

The Role:

Southwark has declared a climate emergency and work is well underway to transform the council and the borough so that we achieve our ambition to be carbon neutral by 2030.

Do you want to be part of making this vision a reality?  If so, we are looking for an enthusiastic individual who can transform their passion for tackling climate change into practical action that changes how the council works, and which leads and inspires residents and partners to do the same.

We are recruiting for a project officer to support the delivery of the council’s climate change programme.  This role will work across the council and with our partners to deliver a range of climate change projects.   In this role you will be part of a small team responsible for delivering one of the council’s top priorities.

About You:

You will need to be someone who is comfortable with complex data and use this and other evidence to constantly review and improve our climate work.  The role is hugely varied and no two days will be the same, but with your first rate project management skills you will help keep projects on track and delivering a low carbon future for Southwark.

We are an organisation who is passionate about our people and understands that richness of diversity is a requirement to provide the best possible services to our communities. We particularly welcome applications from members of the black, Asian and ethnic minority communities to increase representation in this area of our business.

If you think you have the right values, experience and expertise to add to our culture, please do not hesitate to apply.
