The Role
Working as a part of the Exchequer Services Client Services Team you will interact with customers to provide and process information in response to enquiries, concerns or requests relating to Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction, council tax, housing income and Local Support services.
To deliver excellent customer service, primarily by telephone, but occasionally by email or letter, ensuring swift first-time resolution for our customers and liaising with other Exchequer teams. Processing some council tax correspondence and online forms to amend council tax liability, ensuring records are correct and taking an active part in the collection of council tax revenue.
Assisting customers with online services and supporting the completion of applications relating to Housing Benefit, Council Tax Reduction, council tax and Southwark’s Local Support schemes such as the Southwark Emergency Support Scheme (SESS) and the Hardship Fund.
About You:
Are you customer focussed, enthusiastic and open to innovation, have good interpersonal and organisational skills and feel able to handle the pressure of a rapidly changing environment supporting customers and stakeholders?
Ideally, you have a good understanding and experience of using basic IT software, telephony and other communication systems and dealing with management and record systems. Good communication skills with a proactive approach to resolving issues are essential in this role.
